Classes & Workshops

Classes-- The classes at the Art Center begin each year in January or February. Most of the classes are one day a week for four to six weeks and are taught by excellent instructors. We fill a unique cultural niche in the community with our classes and workshops by offering them to those who want reasonable prices and have limited time. Classes for children and teens are also scheduled every year. Traditional techniques are taught by highly qualified professional artists in subjects such as basic drawing, oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, sculpture and photography. Our classes are scheduled for both daytime and evening hours.

Workshops-- We occasionally offer workshops, which are often 2-4 day sessions, from 9:00am-4:00pm (including a break for lunch), taught by well-known professional artists from this region and beyond. These workshops provide a different level of instruction than are available in classes alone.

INTERMEDIATE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS

Must have an understanding of PhotoShop Basics and computer skills. Bring your own laptop with PhotoShop Elements.

ANIMALS AND SUCH

A must class for those of you who like to come when you can and paint and draw in whatever media you like. The subject matter is what project you are working on. Pennie is especially known for her horses and animals!

Time: 9am-12 Noon EVERY Thursday; no reservation needed
Payment: $15.00 each time when you attend; pay at the door

MINATURE/SMALL PAINTINGS AND CARDS

Have you ever wanted to do watercolor painting on a small scale... this class is what you are looking for and just in time for you to make your own holiday cards.

Instructor:Carol Myers, professional watercolor artist.
Place: Pocatello Art Center, 444 N Main Street
Time: Thursday and Friday 6-9 pm both days
Dates: November 10 and 11

PAY-AS-YOU-PAINT CLASSES

These classes are continuing to take place every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9am - 12 Noon with Bob Beason and Karen Wardle. No registration is needed
Payment: $15.00 each time when you attend; pay at the door

CHILDREN'S CLASSES

BEGINNING BASICS/COLOR AND PERSPECTIVE in Watercolor Pencils or pastels or Crayons (8 pack)(you choose) on 9x12 Watercolor paper pad
Instructor: Maggie Millward
Time: Saturdays,
Dates: November 5, 12, 19 and 26;
Time: 10 am -12 Noon
Cost: $40
Ages: Children ages 9-13 will learn color, color blending and drawing to include perspective, a very important tool in art.

CERAMICS FOR CHILDREN in Acrylics
